The Orange County Agricultural Commissioner performs routine inspections of incoming agricultural products and other materials which may be infested with exotic and harmful insects, plant diseases, weeds and vertebrates. Exotic Fruit Flies, Gypsy Moth, Burrowing Nematodes, Japanese Beetle, Lethal Yellowing of Palms, and Red Imported Fire Ants are some of the high profile pests being monitored during these inspections.
Additionally inspections and certifications are performed for local agricultural goods being shipped to other states and foreign destination.
